Jardin de Cactus

Whilst away on a trip to the windy island of Lanzarote, Gary and I visited an amazing place called Jardin de Cactus i.e The Cactus Garden. Although a little apprehensive of spending money to see a load of Cacti, which the landscape in general is covered with, I was glad we did. 

After the brief downpour had passed, the sun came out on a crisp March afternoon and with all occupants of the 6 cars in the car park, we ventured inside. 

The only way to describe Jardin de Cactus is breathtaking. I had no idea what to expect but it wasn't this. It was the most incredible surprise. The amount of different cacti on offer was immense and they were all so neatly laid out and cared for. 

It was one of the most peaceful places I'd ever visited and there was so much inspiration for my illustrations. 

If you happen to be visiting Lanzarote do make the trip to this secret gem hidden in the black volcanic landscape. It was a delight.
